   Saint Jean du Gard is a nice and quiet village as you hope to find them in the South of France. The Tuesday market is its biggest event of the week: it is one of the biggest markets of the area. You will not only find typical Cevennes products, but also many other things such as soap, herbs and honey, and all kinds of souvenirs, regional or imported. On Thursday evenings a smaller market presents local crafts and street musicians.
During the summer season various festivities take place in the village, the hiking festival at Ascension and All Saint’s Day,the goat cheese market		   in June, a dance and fireworks for July 14th, and the yearly village feast at the beginning of August. For all these events you can get plenty of information at the campsite’s reception.
